Is knee replacement surgery different? Yes! IT IS SURE LIKE NOTHING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED BEFORE. I AM SURE THE PRAYERS OF ALL OF YOU ARE THE REAL REASON I HAVE HAD A EASY RECOVERY. Thanks so much for them.
I was not put to sleep but had a spinal block. This meant I heard all the sawing and hammering. I had a return visit to the surgeon two weeks later. He was well pleased with my recovery and said I was a tough man because I took no pain prescriptions that day. I am going to PT at the local hospital twice a week now and again it is going well.
Thank you all for your phone calls, cards and thoughts. I am so very grateful.
Special thanks to Charles “Buddy” and Mary Ella Whatley for covering the Missions Conference this month at Pierce Chapel UMC Midland. My doctors said I should stay here and do PT. These are great folks, wonderful missionaries, and they did an outstanding job for Jesus, I am sure.
My next Mission to the Navajos is April 24th - May 1st. Pray for us and for this work.

The night God became flesh and walked among men ranks as the greatest moment in human history. It was the night when God moved into the world to live and eventually to die. Though this story is 2,000 years old, it is still as fresh as if this were the first time you have ever heard it.
Everywhere I was privileged to speak during the month of December in 2011, I visited Bethlehem again and I notice that as Mary delivered Jesus into this world, there were some Christmas Messages being delivered also.
It is such a joy for me to have a place to go share as I have in November. Being thankful is easy for me for I have much to be thankful for. I made my Wednesday meetings on the 2nd and 16th with the Senior Center here in our home town, great times. On the 12th it was a joy to go have a delicious breakfast with the men at Climax UMC. Buddy, Mary Ella and I shared about the Navajo mission work and our October trip. On Monday night, the 14th, we did it again at Cairo UMC Men's monthly meeting.
The mission trip to Navajoland October 9 thru the 14 went well. Buddy and Mary Ella Whatley, Mike Keown and Charles Dennis flew to Albuquerque, rented a mini-van, and went to Chilne, AZ. Our mission was to begin work on the house of Roger and Grace Tsosie. We were joined by our friends, Billy and Saddie John and their sons, Thorton and Dwayne and grandson, Markus. Also on the team were Steve Shirley and Derrick Tsosie, nephews of Roger.
We were able to put on a metal roof, tan in color, and two new outside doors. We locked and secured the house when we left.
I was honored to sing in the morning worship services at Friendship UMC in Donalsonville, Georgia, on the 4th of September. I answered a special request when I sang, “There Is a River”.
